The Rion VT-06 viscometer is a compact, portable rotational viscometer designed for one-handed operation in both laboratory and field settings. It provides direct digital readings of viscosity in SI units, making it ideal for quick, accurate quality control during manufacturing processes. Viscosity is measured by submerging a rotor into the sample fluid, where the resistance to the rotor’s movement caused by fluid viscosity is converted into a direct reading. The VT-06 supports a wide viscosity measurement range (0.3 to 4000 dPa·s) by using interchangeable stainless steel rotors and corresponding cups or standard beakers. It is powered by four AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries and can also be used with an optional AC adapter. The included extension rod enables testing in deeper containers. The unit’s ±10% measurement accuracy and ±5% reproducibility ensure reliable results across a wide variety of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids.
