The Dakota NDT ZX6-DL multi-echo thickness gauge and data logger is part of the ZX series of thickness gauges offering a performance solution built to withstand the roughest industry conditions. The ZX6-DL is a basic dual element thickness gauge with through-paint measurement capability and the ability to locate blind surface pitting and internal defects and flaws in materials. It is capable of measuring the thickness of various materials with accuracy as high as ±0.001 inches (±0.01 millimeters).
The ZX6-DL combines a standard pulse-echo flaw detection measurement mode with a multi-echo through-paint mode for use on materials with epoxy based coating, and eliminates the error from the coating without having to remove it. It is equipped with adjustable gain, as well as auto Time Dependent Gain in both measurement modes. The ZX6-DL offers a high speed scan feature that allows for scanning larger areas on a given test material, while still offering reasonable representation of thickness over the area scanned.
The ZX6-DL is equipped with a USB-C connector and offers serial over USB using a CDC (Communications Data Class) and software wedge to transfer data into common text editors and spreadsheet software programs, as needed. The ZX6-DL has an on-board data logger that stores 10,000 readings in 40 files of 250 readings per file. The gauge also features a 5-year limited warranty.
