The Dakota NDT RX8-DL sonic tester is an advanced ultrasonic thickness tester designed for the automotive and racing industries. It is most commonly used to measure the thickness of cylinder walls, body panels, chassis tubing, roll cages, head ports, and windshields. The RX8-DL includes a time-based B-Scan feature that displays a cross-section of the opposite surface, allowing engine builders the ability to see the profile/contour of the back surface while scanning cylinders.
The RX8-DL features two measurement modes. The Pulse-Echo mode is used for flaw, pit, and corrosion detection. The Echo-Echo mode is used to measure chassis tubing with or without paint and coatings and includes built-in automatic gain control with a 50dB range and selectable gain options. The tester also features precision temperature controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO) timing with a single shot 100MHz 8-bit ultra-low power digitizer.
