The Ashcroft 1198 finned siphon protects pressure instruments from the effects of elevated temperatures. The siphon and sensing instrument mount directly to the process, and a reduced orifice decreases the volume of the process in the siphon allowing efficient heat transfer. The siphon’s metallic fins maximize exposure to the ambient temperature for effective dissipation. The stainless steel version includes a built-in dampening mechanism that combats process pulsation. The 1198 can be used with gauges, switches, transducers, and diaphragm seals, and is compatible with many process media.
